Rhona and Darren's Lovely Library Inspired Wedding

Hello lovelies,

I've been an extremely bad blogger this year, and hardly blogged any of the amazingly lovely weddings I've worked on over the last 12 months. I've been using my time off to contemplate how next year is going to be better than this year, and one of my resolutions is to try and be a better blogger.

note: This probably won't happen, but at least I might get a few posts scheduled for January.

So without further ado I'd like to share with you the wedding of Rhona and Darren at One Devonshire Gardens - all the little details  and gorgeous styling really made this wedding, from the vintage ladybird books, mini macaron favours, library card seating plan and table numbers - from my favorite shop EVER - to the beautiful dresses (two dresses for Rhona!), shoes and jewellery worn by the ladies. And all captured expertly by one of my favorite photographers, the lovely Caroline of Candysnaps, what more can a girl ask for?

Rhona and I chose a beautiful selection of seasonal anemones, ranunculus, and narcissi alongside Romantic Pepita, Hypnose, Vendella and Sweet Avalanche roses, finished off with berried ivy and tied with a lovely thick grosgrain ribbon. It was so delicious you could (almost) eat them.

You can see more gorgeous details on the Candysnaps blog, and also over on Love My Dress who featured Rhona and Darren's wedding loveliness too! (I got one helluva lovely review on there, made me blush and everything).

Hope you all have a super Saturday Xx

Jess and Steven's Drumtochty Summer Wedding

Hello lovelies,

I just wanted to share a few photographs from another lovely Aberdeen wedding this summer. Jess and Steven got married at the gorgeous St Palladius Chapel and Drumtochty Castle, which is quite a long drive away from Glasgow but definitely worth it for such a beautiful venue.

Jess chose a beautiful colour range of soft blue-greens, whites and creams - we used eucalyptus, hydrangea, echevaria and poppy seed heads to bring out the sea-green colour alongside white roses, queen annes lace, astrantia and lovely scented stocks. As Jess and Steven are based over in the states, we planned the flowers via phone and email. It was really nice to meet face to face for the first time on the morning of the wedding!

All the photographs of this delicious wedding are by the brilliant Edward Osborn, and you can see more from this wedding on his blog

Tonight I'm trying to work out how I can move to Mexico. For the sunshine (and the tequilla)....Over and out Xx

Hazel and Craig's Aberdeen Springtime Celebration

Hello lovelies, how is everyone today? I'll be honest, I've been better. I find these short November days very hard to deal with. I've been cramming vitamin D down my throat like there's no tomorrow and wishing for Spring to hurry up and get here.

I've been getting more and more enquires for lovely weddings up in Aberdeenshire, and I thought I would share one of the first of these from earlier this year, with photographs courtesy of Mirrorbox Photography. This wedding was particularly lovely as I had a ball working with Hazel on all the little details, she even took the time to chauffer me around the various venues before the wedding while we planned the flowers together. We chose a variety of lovely spring flowers - tulips, anemones, ranunculus, miniature daffodils and muscari amongst others - I could hardly choose! Hazel wanted to keep the colours fresh and vibrant as it was Springtime, and also to tone in with her amazing and unusual wedding dress, which was the pale green Madame Butterfly by Suzanne Neville

I was helped out on the day by my lovely assistant Lauren, without whom I could not have hung all the pompoms inside and the ribbons in the trees outside, arranged all the vases, or installed Hazel and Craig's archway in time. I'm hoping that one day I will have a permanent assistant, but thats another story for another day.

There were so many lovely details to this wedding I can't begin to describe them all! You should however go and see what Hazel has been up to since her wedding to Craig. She's been a busy bee setting up her own incredible china hire business in Aberdeen - A Vintage Tea Party. All the beautiful china and tablecloths at the wedding were carefully collected by Hazel.

Well, enjoy the pictures my lovelies! Over and out for now xxx

Summer Days - A Styled Shoot

I needed some colour today, so I thought I'd dig out these pictures by the wonderful Lillian and Leonard. They are from a photoshoot we worked on together, styled by the lovely Jillian Manger of Mimi Nicole Event Design. You might have seen it earlier this year on Rock My Wedding, but I haven't written anything about it until now. Bad blogger.

Anyway, I was feeling dreary today (being ill for two days and residing in what feels like perpetual dusk whilst trying to work will do that to you), so I decided to share this summery loveliness with you to brighten up everyones' day. I'm imagining sitting back in the sun on a veranda, basking in the warmth and smelling the climbing roses which are sprawling over the garden wall next to me. Someone brings out pink lemonade. Children laugh in the distance, at play.....

I love escapism. Happy Monday my lovelies Xx

Laura and Stephen's Edinburgh pastel spring wedding

Hello my lovelies, I just wanted to do a quick post this morning as its been far too long, and I have loads of lovely work to show you. I should probably post a summer wedding, but I thought as I've been meeting with lots of amazing couples to talk about weddings in the spring I'd put up pictures from a spring wedding this year instead!

Laura and Stephen got married in Edinburgh at the end of March. Laura wanted a really soft, pretty colour palette so we chose flowers in pale pink, lilac, cream and white. I love spring flowers, and Laura's bouquet had all my favorites in - anemones, ranunculus, lilacs, tulips and paperwhites. Stephen wore a ranunculus and lilac buttonhole which looked great against his tweed suit!

The reception was held in Howies, one of my favorite spots in Edinburgh for an intimate wedding. Howies has a beautiful airy quality to it due to its big bright windows and tall ceilings, but somehow manages to feel cosy in the evenings too! Here, we used a mixture of white and yellow roses and paperwhites in vintage tea cups which Laura and Stephen had collected, alongside some simple spring arrangements in the same pastel colours as Laura's bouquet.

Gorgeous photographs are kindly provided by Lillian and Leonard, and you can see more of Laura and Stephen's wedding on their blog here

More wedding loveliness to come soon, I promise! I'm just gearing up for an amazing weddingy weekend (also in part involving Lillian and Leonard), but after that I can relax a little bit and tell you more tales of flowers from this summer!

Mike and Jane's Peachy Book Themed Wedding

Good afternoon lovelies, I thought it was high time I shared this very lovely wedding with you all! Working with Mike and Jane was super fun and I just loved the bright designs we came up with. This was a March wedding, and the beautiful red, cream and peachy tones were really bright and cheerful (Unlike the Glaswegian winter weather!)

Mike and Jane got married in the Ubiquitous Chip in Glasgow's Ashton Lane. The food and atmosphere there is wonderful, and the leafy interior makes for a really natural and relaxed feel. Mike and Jane spent lots of time hand making lots of little details for the wedding, including moustaches, mini apple pies and red velvet cookies, and some amazing paper book vases to name a few things! They also spent time meticulously hand painting baked bean tins that they had collected and we used these as little vases for the tables - a nice alternative to the jam jar!

We chose seasonal flowers for Jane's bouquet - anemones, ranunculus and tulips, mixed with peach avalanche and hypnose roses, asclepia and eucalyptus. Mike had a ranunculus and chincherinchee buttonhole - we kept the style as natural and relaxed as possible.

If you want to see more of this gorgeous wedding you can check it out here on Candysnaps blog - all the lovely photographs in this post are courtesy of this talented lady! You can also check the wedding out on Rock n Roll Bride where it was featured earlier this year!

Signing off for now, have a happy weekend lovelies! Xx
